The Hydragel LP E Particles assay is designed for the quantification of total Apo E and Apo E present in particles without Apo B by an electroimmunodiffusion technique. LP E is found in both atherogenous lipoproteins, such as LDL, IDL and VLDL, associated with Apo B and in non atherogeneous lipoproteins, HDL. The particles containing Apo B and Apo E are found essentially in residual particles produced during the catabolism of lipoproteins with high triglyceride levels and are highly atherogenous. In order to characterize the two types of particles with totally opposing functions, it is necessary to perform a differential quantification measuring the total Apo E in neat serum and then in serum treated with anti-Apo B such that Apo E LP non B can be determined. The difference between the rockets obtained from neat serum and those obtained from the treated serum allows the determination of the amount of particles containing Apo B and Apo E.
Perfect for the research laboratory, Sebia's LP E assay is the kit many research scientists choose for its ease of use, clarity of results, fast processing, and excellent performance.
