The Sebia ISO-LDH kit is designed to provide a clear separation of the five lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes commonly found in serum. Elevations in LDH isoenzymes can occur as a result of numerous physiological problems including a heart attack and liver disease. LD1 is associated with heart muscle, LD2 with skeletal muscle, and LD5 with the liver. Quantitation of these fractions and comparison with normal values can help determine if there has been damage to these specific tissues in the body. The HYDRASYS® automates many of the tedious hand-on steps of this usually manual assay and use of an improved colorimetric substrate makes the gel easy to scan and provides a permanent test record for the laboratory.
