Useful in the diagnostic determination of hyperlipidemia, the Sebia LIPO assay is designed for the separation and quantitation of the major lipoprotein components found in serum. These include chylomicrons, beta lipoproteins or low density lipoproteins (LDL), pre-beta lipoproteins or very low density lipoproteins (VLDL), and alpha lipoproteins or high density lipoproteins (HDL). Lipoproteins are recognized today for its involvement in atherosclerosis and thrombotic diseases.
