Sebia's Immunofixation assay is designed for the identification of gammopathies in human sera or other human biological fluids, including concentrated urine. The sample is first electrophoresed. An innovative labor saving method is used to greatly simplify antisera application. The patented Dynamic Mask provides a significant reduction in manual antisera pipetting, and even completely eliminates manual pipetting if used alongside Sebia's HydraPLUS™ instrument. The result: Elimination of repetitive motion injuries and additional tech-time is realized. Plus, antisera does not need to be blotted off of the gel and time-consuming press drying steps are not required! A simple blotting step removes all protein that has not combined with the applied antisera so any abnormal proteins can be easily identified. The enhanced sensitivity of the assay, in part achieved by using an acid violet stain, combined with unsurpassed band resolution and gel clarity facilitates interpretation.
For additional testing flexibility, agarose gel and antisera kits are offered separately. Antisera kits include: IgG, IgA, IgM, Kappa Light Chains and Lambda Light Chains. The specificity of the light chain antisera is for both free and bound chains. The method of antisera application allows flexibility to accommodate testing for IgD, IgE, or free light chains on the same gel. This means fewer wasted tracks or special runs. Gels and kits are available in a range of sizes to accommodate any size workload while providing optimal cost effectiveness for all laboratories.
