Fully Automated Capillary Separation System with Cap Piercing Technology

The CAPILLARYS 2 Flex Piercing instrument utilizes proven capillary separation technology along with cap piercing capabilities to provide whole blood analysis for hemoglobinopathy and thalassemia detection and the new generation of HbA1c testing. The system allows for continuously loading of samples to provide a rapid throughput of up to 38 results per hour improving workflow efficiencies in the clinical laboratory. The CAPILLARYS 2 Flex Piercing system features an innovative mixing system in which the whole blood samples are completely inverted multiple times just before sampling occurs; sample inversion provides thorough homogenization of the samples for a more accurate result. The complete menu also includes analysis of serum and urine protein(6), serum and urine immunotyping, and carbohydrate-deficient transferrin (CDT), a chronic alcohol abuse maker.

The CAPILLARYS 2 Flex Piercing system is able to provide superior results by using a liquid flow separation technique along with direct detection of each specific protein. Each assay is read at a precise wavelength to improve both accuracy and linearity.
