Sebia's Alkaline Hemoglobin assay is intended for the separation of normal hemoglobins and the major hemoglobin variants at an alkaline pH. Designed to give better separation between A and F hemoglobins than traditional agarose assays, hemoglobins A, A2, F, S and C can be easily separated and identified utilizing the Alkaline assay for initial screening and Sebia's Acid Hemoglobin assay for confirmation of variant migration. Fast hemoglobins such as Bart's and H can also be seen. Results are routinely processed through a combination of visual interpretation and hemoglobin quantitation utilizing the HYRYS 2 Densitometer or Phoresis Imaging System.
Hemoglobin processing utilizing the HYDRASYS system is a more economical option to HPLC and provides walk-away automation to process large numbers of samples quickly.
