The Hydragel Lp (a) assay is designed for the quantification of Lp (a) lipoprotein in serum by an electroimmunodiffusion technique. Lp (a) is a plasmatic lipoprotein with physico-chemical and clinical properties very close to LDL. Lp (a) competes with plasminogen for fibrin binding and is also involved in atherosclerosis as well as thrombotic disease. A concentration of Lp (a) over 0.30 g/L is considered to be an independent risk factor to myocardial heart disease.
In this Laurel rocket method, monospecific anti-Apo (a) antibody is incorporated into an agarose gel with quantitation determined by comparing sample rocket heights against a standard curve.
Perfect for the research laboratory, Sebia's Lp (a) assay is the kit many research scientists choose for its ease of use, clarity of results, fast processing, and excellent performance.
